I did not change the tubes at all on the 300B preamp. I played a lot on the Snappers and ended preferring EveAnna's choice : Tung Sol EL34B and NOS GE input tubes.
Did you adjust the bias in the 300B preamp after changing the tubes ?

I have a Weiss DAC202 firewire. It is great, but I have a plan: as soon as the new Turbot DAC from Manley is released... I know, we always should listen first, but just the idea of having a Manley DAC

Tannoy is, in my opinion, the best I have lived with Tannoy Prestige Kensington SE for 5 years and just got the new Golden Reference (GR) version 6 weeks ago. Tannoy speakers need a long break-in, so I am not there yet. I am playing music on them all the time... they sounds just better and better. With the size of my living room there is no way I can get Canterbury or Westminster in there. Kensington, with 10", is just perfect in the room. Thus, when I heard the rumors of a new version, I ordered the GR right away.

Wow. Manley and Tannoy must sound delicious. Great system. I too wish I had room for the big Tannoys.

Alberto, I recently switches from the Tannoy Yorkminster SE speakers to phy-hp based speakers in my Shindo system and my deliciousness factor went way WAY up. Reports of these Tannoys liking watts appear to be accurate.

The manual of the 300B Neo Classic says that bias should be adjusted when changing the 300B tubes. It is made internally. You can send an email to Manley to ask them how to proceed if you are comfortable with working near high voltages. If not, you may have it done by a technician.

The easiest way is to upload your pics to something like Photobucket or Flickr (I like Flickr as it gives you various sizes of pic options). Then when you want to post here, copy the image address and click on the *insert image* button, and paste your image address into the box that appears ......and you're done.

To blow up a thumbnail someone's already posted, just right click the opened thumbnail, copy the image address and then proceed as above

Thanks, and nice to meet another DAC 202 owner! I've had mine for a good few years now & love it. The Tannoys are wonderful, I personally think the Kensington's are the sweet spot in the range, but sadly there're all too large for both my space & my waf!! I know EveAnna used a pair of Tannoy Churchill's herself
