A B&W DB sub is easy to integrate with the 800 Series, and would provide plenty. An economical and room friendly solution for 803-805

I noticed you have a VPI Classic and a Hana Umami Red cartridge. I have a VPI Classic 3 with a Cadenza Black and am wondering if the Hana would be an improvement.
I have the 802 D3 and do not feel the speakers are bass shy. Do you feel the cartridge could be the reason the speakers sound bass shy? I would expect the 802 D3 to have improved dynamics in the bass response with larger woofers and a bigger cabinet in the same room as yours, but was curious if you have any opinion on the cartridge. |

For regular listening, i'm very happy with the Bass, it just does not have the SLAM that some people like, especially my younger son in law. Yes a B&W sub would help, but I do not think it's needed. Brian Quote:
The Hana Red is a marvelous cartridge, I moved from a Transfiguration Phoenix to the Hana Red and it brought out more detail. The amount of Bass does not change, playing Vinyl or Digital. Brian |
