I noticed you have a VPI Classic and a Hana Umami Red cartridge. I have a VPI Classic 3 with a Cadenza Black and am wondering if the Hana would be an improvement.

I have the 802 D3 and do not feel the speakers are bass shy. Do you feel the cartridge could be the reason the speakers sound bass shy?

I would expect the 802 D3 to have improved dynamics in the bass response with larger woofers and a bigger cabinet in the same room as yours, but was curious if you have any opinion on the cartridge.

For regular listening, i'm very happy with the Bass, it just does not have the SLAM that some people like, especially my younger son in law.
Yes a B&W sub would help, but I do not think it's needed.

The Hana Red is a marvelous cartridge, I moved from a Transfiguration Phoenix
to the Hana Red and it brought out more detail.
The amount of Bass does not change, playing Vinyl or Digital.
