Assuming you'll utilize the Mc as transport for redbook, and based on a private audition, I propose an Ideon Ayazi (3.5k?) DAC.
I hooked one to the MCD's coax out and, once fired up, the sonic result was better (especially clarity & high FR). Doesn't work on SACD of course. Good luck!
