I've heard both the 6T and 7T on different occasions at a dealer earlier this year. From what I remember, the bass on the 7T reached lower (obviously) and was a little more full. The 6T still had surprisingly good bass response, and seemed to better convey the emotion of the music a little more. I wonder if that's due to its imaging and/or the smaller midrange driver and higher crossover point to the tweeter (3 kHz on 7T vs. 4 kHz on 6T).
Another contact at a different dealer compared both and said that the smaller drivers in the 6T are quicker and more articulate than the 7T. And that the 6T is very punchy. Wondering if anyone else has direct experience comparing the Aerial Acoustics 6T to 7T? |

I’ve got both the 6T and 7T. The 7s image just as well if not better than the 6s. The 7s also have better dynamics as opposed to the 6s. Caveat being, if I didn’t have both I’d be very happy with the 6s. I use JL E110s with my 7s for complete full range sound. I use a sub with the 6s as well. Allows the speakers to realize their full potential. The room you’re setting up the speakers in should be considered as well. Due to their smaller size the 6s will be easier to position for best results. If your room and budget allows it, I’d go with the 7s. I’ve had both since 2015 and the upgrade itch hits me all the time. Since I’m a CEDIA installer I get to hear a myriad of speakers. Nothing that I’ve listened too in the past 4 years has ever convinced me to change them. For neutral, dynamic sound production and fantastic build quality they can’t be beat at their price point. IMHO.

Do you use a crossover for the subs or play everything at full range?

I use the electronic crossover in the JLs to crossover at 55hz. High and low pass. This allows the 7inch woofers to not have to deal with the extreme lower frequencies. I’ve noticed enhanced midrange and bass effects due to this. Much more neutral in my opinion. The JLs are extremely accurate and fast. You wouldn’t know the subs are playing till I switch them out and and the difference is very noticeable. The emotions of the music are more apparent and dynamics are incredible.

I use 2 JLs. Positioned to the outside of my 7s with them angled away from mains. Approximately 1 foot in front. I can send a picture if you’d like.

crikeys I was hoping to post on the 2 year anniversary on the last post, but alas grandkids kept me busy. Since Aerial appeal is waning maybe the space could be repurposed , say perhaps a Bose , Advent, AR or Allison forum.
