Charles,
Thank you for the feedback from Mc contact. My MkVI 275s were updated models and not sure why but I enjoyed the audio output of the single stereo vs monoblocks. Everyone is their own opinionated reviewer. To me the soundstage was not as collapsed. Absolutely the 1502 outshone the monoblocks.

I'm not a big fan of the hybrid drive concept. I think they think that the 2301, which is still selling well, and the 3500 offer sufficient high powered tube amps and that another high powered tube amp, while "nice", is overkill. That was my impression. He said that there were 750 MC 2000's and a lot of 2102's out there. I said I thought the new protective circuits were extremely desirable. I got nowhere. He's a very good friend. We spoke for over an hour.

I would love to see an updated Mc2102 or Mc2000 with Mcintosh's current protection system and LED lighting. I know tubes might not be the best for controlling a bass driver, but I love the sound.

If Mc sees this can you please go back to locking balance inputs? I really dislike the balanced connections on the MC452, which are rather loose. In these price ranges it really should be there.

I believe the 3500 has locking balanced connections. If you look at the other current thread on the ML-1C, you can see the reason why Mac has little interest at present for re-introducing a MC2000 or 2102. Mac thinks they have enough high powered tube amps to satisfy the market. I'll bet they considered a 3500, 2000, and 2102 redo several years ago and chose the 3500 out of the three.

Here's a question for anyone on AA including Ivan: what country buys the most Mac? Do not say EU because it is not an individual county like the USA. I'll send you a dollar if you guess it correctly.

p.s. The MC3500 to my ears has the best bass through my XVX I have heard. To my ears it is more enjoyable than my 1.25KW. Try as may I simply can't get it out of my system, and I would like to very much so that I could enjoy both amps, but I can't.

Best

Charles

For a time they were buying up all the good Bordeaux and cognac and other very high end consumer goods—- why not Macs[emoji106]? They need something to listen to why drinking up all that wine. 🤪
