Thanks. I loved the 252 but the 352 is definitely a step up. A lot more punch and the eq controls are better then the one on my external DAC (which is a good one). I have some age-related hearing loss and it really helps!

It depends where you are positioned in McIntosh's lineup. If the delta between the two products is reasonable it make swallowing the cost that much easier. For me, I believe they forgot or intentionally left out current clients that want to upgrade to a new model in their lineup. In my case, moving from MC601's to MC611's would have yielded them more money than MA252 to MA352 but that's not an option with this offer. I would have to go up to MC1.25kw which is overkill for me unless I was contemplating upgrading speakers in the future. I'm not.

Don't misunderstand my position, it's not sour grapes. I wish McIntosh good luck with this offer and hope many use it to McIntosh's advantage. I want them to succeed in business so they don't end up like ARC but for me I will pass.

I think you’re right. Lots of different variables seem to be involved. My dealer said that they have been swamped with calls ever since the program was announced, and I’m pretty sure I was the first of their customers to upgrade. I feel like I got a fair price for my trade-up; $4,300 for a new MA352.

The MA252 trade in value + original MA252 MSRP is less than MSRP for a MA352? Asking because I am questioning my understanding of how a unit is qualified as a trade in.

With my trade up I paid $4,300 for my 352. I’m more than happy.

I believe the MA252 is $4000 MSRP, MA352 is $7000. Depending upon what he paid for the MA252, $4300 sounds right after trade-in.
