I can't say that I've heard a difference between a 6' and 10' of the same speaker cable. That being said I tend to go for the shorter length, currently a 2m.

I'm sure you're right. It turned out to only be a difference of 6 ft compared to 8ft. I wound up making my own 8awg cables for now. Partly because I wanna be sure about what lengths to order, and also how large of a cable the stands can accommodate inside, and partly because I want to take a break from spending anything else on this system for a while. The cables I made sound pretty good so I'll hold off for a while.

I'm glad to read this, as I have 4 meter speaker cables and have always wondered if the sound had been better if I bought 3 meter cables.
