That is great. I was going to try to burn in some wires on my ML Odysseys. But the banana just didn't feel right. So I didn't do it. I am betting it was the connectors. How long were your wires and what audioquest?

Hey Timm, I had a 25 foot run in my previous home. Just needed 10ft now. I use Audioquest Type 8 cable. I'm sure there are better choices up the food chain. I liked it better though than some Blue Jean cables I owned.

Down the road when all the new gear settles in I plan on updating some of the interconnects and speaker cables.

Tim .. I have not heard the 13/15a line. I know the ML sound and like it very much. Have you listened to the magnepan 20.7? It may be something that floats your boat and could save you a bit if you are thinking about the 15 and have an accommodating room. I felt the weakness in the summit series was the small cabinet - but the 15 certainly takes care of that as does the 13!!

As you may have seen I purchased the Maggie's so I may be biased.

You know I've never heard the 20.7's but they are well reviewed. My dad owned a pair of 3.2's as did my older brother. But they require a larger room vs ML.

No I LOVE these 13a's...but have been getting that 'upgrade' fever for just about everything I own!

Well seriously there is a lot to love there. My personal experience w logans - at least w the series I own - (odyssey) is that the panel sounds pretty much the same between a similar model- but added bass gives a sense of more weight and texture from the mids on down. My opinion of course.

Let me know if you hear the 15s

Got a question for my fellow AA Martin Logan guys. If/when you performed the PBK (perfect pass kit) and ARC software did you hear improvements in the bass? Everywhere I read I see owners and critics saying big difference. I just did this tonight. But honestly? No difference.

I mean it sounds GREAT. I added dual powered subs. But with subs disengaged, I still find the bass to be weaker at the listening position. I was hoping the PBK would eliminate nulls etc...

Wanted to update my thread.

2017 was definitely the year of the Audio Upgrade for me. It seems that only a few months separated a big purchase from the next step up!

All this year from the McIntosh c2600 to the C1100....The MC452 to the MC601s..and now I just traded up from the fairly new 13a's to CLX Art

I flew up to Milwaukee in October and heard them along with some Bricasti gear. The Bricasti DAC was insanely good BTW.

Anyway I WANTED what I heard while there. So there it is

Feel free to quote me down the road but I think this updated system will be a keeper. The next evolution will be a really good DAC/Room treatments/Cables

Thanks for sharing with me the excitement of getting these 13a's home and look forward to your thoughts down the road when the new ones arrive.
