Hi All,
Well, after dithering for a year, i just bought a new (to me ) used SP3. I did check the serial number with Bryston in Canada and everything is good from a warranty standpoint. The tech was going to get back to me about any updated firmware that may or not be necessary or available but he never was able to. I have 2 questions. Firstly, is there a place to check for such firmware and does it auto-install. Secondly, I really want the new module for the USB interface for my computer -based music server (to come). When and how will that happen. Thanks in advance, David Shapiro |

Welcome!
1. There isn't a place where you can check the firmware version. In my opinion: that's a pity. It doesn't auto-install, which I think is good. Because e.g. one could turn off the power accidentally or doing something else to interrupt the update procedure. 2. USB interface: just scroll a few reply's back in this thread. |

So how do you update the firmware?

Hi
The firmware is updated by us sending you a BIN file which connects to our server. We will be looking at a notice which will pop up on the SP3 webpage as we now do with the BDP-2. james |

Thanks. If I got mine in 2013, is it possible I have a newer, "test" version of the firmware? I think mine has a 2013 version.
(Maybe that would explain why I have to reset the IP address on the unit every day?) |

Production is always the Dec 2012 version - test or beta is only available for those that want to be test customers. jamestanner@bryston.com if you want to try it. james |
