I wouldn't throw any Color Strads out of my room!

One more vote for graphite. I love seeing the red violin at other people rooms and shops, but in my room I preferred the graphite's.

I have a pair of Elipsa SEs in the violin red, baby strads. The violin red looks much richer than the graphite to me. But it would all depend on the room and how it is furnished.

No question - graphite it is. I have the Amati Futura in that beautiful gray style, and it is stunningly elegant. If they where only sold in red - I would probably not own a pair.

After much deliberation - I have concluded that all Strads look good.
I think graphite might look great in a bright room where all that light bounces off the grey panels.... but in a dark room, it might be too "monolithic". The orangey red is very classic and very true to the original intent by Serblin - to be similar in lacquer to the violin Strads. The walnut, however, in my opinion is the best of them all... looks perfect with a walnut Eames Chair no? |

The Walnut is truly stunning finish on the Strads. Mesmerising, no less.
but just think about the recent option of all Piano Black... |

First, I agree with Joey_V, the graphite would be beautiful in a bright monochrome-like room, with the violin reds being great in an older toned down room (Victorian?). That said, do be careful with speaker placement near windows. My Dad's pair of Amati Homage unfortunately got some sun damage due to being placed near a window exposed to the Louisiana sun. I've always kept my violin red Amati Homages and Guarneri Mementos away from the windows (or back in Seattle, same diff) and have had zero issues. I'm now looking at a graphite pair of Strads and am curious if that might be a little safer to put in a bright room. I wish I knew more about the finishing process, what I do know is that the graphite's price is a bit less than the other finishes.
