You are definitely putting together a world class system and it's making me want to do the same. I definitely have a newfound respect for Wilson Alexias and would be tempted to upgrade, but my listening room could not accommodate speakers of that size.

I'm going to try to do an in home demo with the KX-R/MX-R 20's and see how much improvement can be had over my KX-5/VX-5.

I was worried about the Alexias in my room too (14x17 feet with 8 feet ceilings). But it's working rather well. There is an opening to the next room to the right, and an opening in the rear corner, so it keeps the room from getting too pressurized. I'm moving soon to a bigger house, so it's a temporary setup for me.

I occasionally wonder about Shunyata vs Cardas. I see Ayre uses them at shows. Ayre also sells some Cardas like interconnects and cables. But I see Ayre recently shows with Cardas (the familiar blue color is the dead giveaway). I am pretty happy with Shunyata though. I don't encounter many Ayre/Shunyata folks online.
