Default Linn question

Any one here have experience with the new Linn Organik dac? Curious how it compares with the Katalyst dac that preceded it. I have read various reviews on line but did not get a sense of how appreciable the new sound is.

I have a Klimax DSM/2 that I upgraded from Katalyst to Organik about 3 months ago. The Katalyst was great, but the Organik was a clear improvement: smoother, and excuse the cliches, but more open and organic. The upgrade cost $7200 and was well worth it.

Tony - thanks for the feedback. I have a Katalyst Akurate and have been wondering about upgrading to the entry Organik - and at 12k a bit hesitant.

Why not upgrade the Akurate to the organic?

Linn is not providing an upgrade path for the Akurate- the line is being discontinued.

That’s a shame, I always thought the Akurate was a nice-looking and very good sounding box.
