Thank you everyone for your advice! I bought just the basic 32 gig iPad - $50 off on sale at the local BB. It's a real improvement and even though I'm generally not especially fond of Apple gear, I think you really need an iPad to get the most fun out of an Aurender.
This is all part of what I like best about AA ... being able to get good advice from others that have first-hand experience, but without the snark and nonsense that's so common elsewhere. So thank you again to all for your help!

Cleeds - I have a iPad mini 3 with the basic memory I think 32GB. I have however restricted it to internet searches and local home email along with Aurender. Most use the larger screen version I believe but I find it awkward to handle. The text is fine yes a bit smaller but I find the mini to work just fine and would recommend it. I'm in my mid 60's and can view all the text and album art just fin.

I agree. Big iPad easier to read and use... and how you could not help it but research some music... then maybe audio equipment.. read the forum... which would show how much easier it is to use than Android.. then a phone because of its great integration... watch because of health and safety (automatic fall detection... EKG... track your exercise... oh, guess that is why we have 7 iPads, 2 phones, 2 watches... etc.

Exactly! I have found listening with the iPad as a controller to be a whole new experience.
