No 4367's in my area to audition......I currently have a Like New set of L300/Summit speakers that work perfectly...(for those that have never heard these...they live up to their reputation!) I plan on building a new setup and was wondering if someone had 4367's and have heard L300's could elaborate on similarities. I know this is a long shot, but who knows. The L300 sound, especially vocals from the horn are amazing. They both have 15" Woofers but are 40-years apart on driver/crossover design and development.
thanks, Tom |

I've heard both, but its been about 30 years since I've heard a set of L300's. A friend of mine (a JBL and Revel dealer) has a set of 4367's that he uses in his personal listening room at home and they are fantastic. I don't know if they are "better" than the L300's, but they warm and rich sounding, with all of the detail and dynamics one would expect from a horn speaker - but without any perceptible horn "coloration". They (JBL) sometimes set up a room at RMAF with 4367's. Perhaps they do that at other shows too? It's definitely a speaker that is worth auditioning.

You should be able to find people who have made a direct comparison here;

I have L-300's with the Nelson Pass crossover. Drivers are factory correct. Foam surround about 5 yrs old.
The 4367 is more accurate and more dynamic, more audiophile correct. The bass on the L-300 is a bit fuller sounding (in a good way), imaging not nearly up to the 4367 ability. For pure pleasure I like my L-300's, warts and all! More to the point however the wife, (Ms. Music Junkie) loves how they sound and doesn't want them to leave the listening room Kent |

You are welcome Tom, there are certainly better speakers than the L-300, but very few I can think of that are more fun to listen through.
I do like the crossover change, you can find the article on the web. They potentially don't play quite a loud with but the drivers do seem to integrate better. A charge coupled cap version of same is in the works. Kent |

As the happy but ever-curious owner of a set of L300s, I’ve been wondering about the 4367 myself. Thanks for starting this thread and getting some opinions!
