The Royal SE may be one of the best speaker on earth, I find it ugly ( come on guys : it looks just like a big black box ! ) and regret that Tannoy did not keep the classic wood cabinet of the Prestige Series for this one....

Jérôme.......The Tannoy Kingdom Royal speakers are a long way from a big black box. I will agree they differ dramatically from the cabinet designs of other Tannoy models, but I find the Kingdom Royal very attractive and belive it would compliment nearly any room environment.

I am sorry to be so late to see this Tannoy sub-forum! I have been a total Tannoy fan
since 1972 when I bought 12" Monitor Gold drivers to install in Altec Santana cabinets...
Now I have my Canterbury SE's and am very happy. I was fortunate to hear the Kingdom
Royals at RMAF, quite nice! However, the Cants fit my budget and room size very nicely.

I would want some type of grill over the super tweeter to keep prying fingers and maids whisk brooms, away from the fragile driver. Knowing Tannoy was RMAF I may attend next year.

Ivan, which amp would you recommend? MC 601 or a MC 2301. Maybe a 1.2k or a MC 301 for a smaller room?
