Platter Mats recommendation

I use a Herbie’s Way Excellent 2mm because I had it as a left over from my previous Rega P9.

I used one of Herbie's Grungebuster mats on my P9 as well, and have Herbie's "Way Excellent II" mat on my AR XA. Herbie's makes great products at very reasonable prices.

The Ortofon OM10 Super is a great inexpensive starting point. And, when you are ready for an upgrade both Turntable Needles & LP Gear offer the OM20 (bonded), or OM30 & OM40 (both nude) stylus, which all fit the same body.
The same is true of the Audio Technica VM740ML. When ready for an upgrade you can go with one of their better nude stylus.
To my ears, the Ortofon is a bit more 'laid-back' sounding then the very detailed AT cartridges. Which to go with depends on your other gear and your preference.

My 40yr-old factory rubber mat ain't what she used to be. Asking for a Herbie's or Achromat for Xmas.
