Bill, I was shocked at how good the Q3s were. Quite remarkable. And I had been thinking all those reviewers were idiots with tin ears. I'm glad I tried again, although I was more interested in the Avior when I walked in.
GJ, the speakers were in a room about 16' x 25' with 11' or 12' ceilings. Set up on the long wall, and I think I was maybe 11' back from the center point between the speakers. The speakers were 8'-10' apart, toed in to the listening position. You could call Joshua Cohn to ask for room dimensions. Very nice guy, very helpful, knows his stuff. He still has very nice things to say about Bill's Strads too. This was by far the best sound I have ever heard from any Magico, and I've heard them at multiple shows, set up by Alon Wolf and his crew, and at Goodwin's in Boston. I also may be considering a Q5 and will have an issue regarding position. I won't be able to have the back of the speakers more than....2" from the front wall. Dealer is saying this should not be an issue give the closed design. Lateral walls are no problem with 7/8' in each. Distance between speakers will be 8' center to center. Any issue you guys see with this? Thanks
