Thanks for sharing. I recently went through the same thing for the PM1 Speakers and JL Audio Sub. I started out really wanting the Roksan Caspian M2, but didn't think it was worth the import price of $2,800. Then I bought a used Bryston B100, but returned it and ended up with separates: A new PS Audio Perfectwave DAC/Pre amp (there was a reason for going so high in price) and two amps to choose from. The first amp was a used Conrad Johnson MF 2500 and the second was a used Wyred 4 Sound ST500. I ended up keeping the Wyred 4 Sound amp, it seemed to suit the system better.

I bought the way more expensive PS Audio PW DAC because I needed a DAC anyway and wanted to go with music off my computer/server. The PS Audio PW DAC is one of the best from what I can tell.

While the HK has a decent sound and good power reserve......personally it has a cheap build quality to it in the front......the buttons and volume control especially are the same as the ones they use on their $399 HK 5.1/7.1 CH receivers.

Lightbulb Tube sounds

I know they can make solid-state amps sound warm like tubes. But who does make an integrated amp that sounds like a tube Macintosh?

Hi Lakesailor i sold my Bow Technologies Wazoo XL to a b&w 804 owner and he is very happy he had doubts that it wouldn't do the job so i loaned him the unit for a weekend phoned me after a couple of hours to buy be careful the Wazoo XL not the Wazoo wich is only 50 watts per channel the XL is 75 watts per channel.

Bryston's smallest integrated would be very nice. Have owned their previous R-60RP and am sure their newest B50R model is quite as capable.

I recently saw one of these amps, an Electrocompaniet ECI-5, shall we say "around" for $1999 which is a bargain.
