Bob... Speaker cables are very subjective, as well as gear and room dependent. That being said, I used to sell and own MIT cables quite some time ago.

I have since moved to all Wireworld cables, I find them outstanding in both performance, and price compared to the competion offerings. I would suggest you get a trial pair to use in your existing system to remove all doubt, and confirm your decision.

I can offer you this in home trial, but must limit it to Subscribers of the Forum. Then we can PM each other, and work out the details.

Cables are very subjective, but both Wilson and cj like Transparent Reference cables. I spent many happy years with such a system: Wilson V /Puppy, MV125 and Transparent Reference XL cables. BTW, I got the Wilson's and Transparent's on a suggestion of Lew Johnson - we were listening to Wislon Audio Grand Slamm´s at a show and he told me that he owned the V's at home - 95% of the sound the big ones for home use, he told me. And I ordered them a few hours later on his advise!

Shunyata power cords and conditioners

I don't think you're going to find what you're looking with different cables.

IMO, the whole Transparent/MIT speaker cable thing is a bandage for poorly designed amps, and you don't have that
problem.

I'd recommend you experiment with your speaker/listening positioning or roll some tubes in your preamp.

You should then listen to the newest gen of MIT cables Quite a bit different than the last couple and are definitely for someone who wants great low end, resolution, staging and hall sound and neutrality.

Would you say the cj ART is a badly designed amplifier (just one example of amplifiers I've used/using)?

I find the MIT, Transparent and K-S all work very well. As one designer said to me recently, I'm totally against the concept of networks and boxes on cables but they sound the best.

I had 501's on W/P 8's and Sasha's
First let me say there are much more revealing amps to use on Wilsons than the 501's.
For me they have less detail than almost anything in their price range and sound slow on Wilson so this might be an area to look at first. If you are looking for holographic sound stage, lots of detail and depth the 501's aren't the amps. If you want a pleasant sounding soft system then they work great. Also try the different taps as they do change the sound greatly
That being said, I used Vahalla, MIT Shotgun 1.3 and K-S Elation with various amplifier combinations on the Wilsons mentioned above. I know the MIT version is not in the same price range as the others( and I have a feeling Myles Astor is right on regarding MIT as long as you are at the Magnum level or higher) but for me the Vahalla and Elation are both outstanding and the lesser Shotgun not so great. I currently use the Elation but am seriously considering a higher end networked cable

Owners of both will tell you wonderful things about both. Opus MM2 are great but very expensive ...

IMHO, the most critical in the choice is the matching between the speakers and power amplifier, but once you get this one you will find you need the one connecting the source to the preamplifier soon.

Rolling tubes in no different from selecting cables/interconnects ,swapping cartridges, etc and has nothing to do with poorly designed amps (or other gear). People tweak their systems to get the sound they are looking for.
