For early morning with coffee or late night relaxing, I enjoy Canadian guitarist David Lindsay. If you're not familiar with him, I suggest starting with his 2015 album Nightbound. The title track, Nightbound, is a good selection if you just want to taste the music. His newest album, Last Passing of Summer, was released in October 2018. Both albums were produced by Windham Hill Records founder Will Ackerman and feature acoustic guitar solos as well as some beautiful ensemble pieces. Several outstanding musicians appear on various tracks. His music is gentle, soothing to the soul and well recorded. I really enjoy both albums.

These three are not the latest and genre-wise are quite a spread, but IMO deserve some attention:
Adam Ben Ezra - Can't Stop Running - Can't Stop Running Great bass player and a lovely tune. Senhor De Baixo (or Bassotronics) - Bas From Hell, Vol.1 - Bass Is Your God A bit of fun with seismic frequencies. Lambchop - Is A Woman - Caterpillar An uncanny feeling of presence. |
