May 2010 - New Peak consultation - Bluebird Music assumes US/Canadian distribution for Peak Consult loudspeakers whose "multifaceted enclosures are handcrafted in Peak's own facility by Danish artisans. Depending on model, Peak cabinets are built with a 1" to 3" HDF sandwich material covered by another 1" solid wood panel or high-grade acrylic. The speakers are designed to optimize the off-axis response and avoid diffraction. In order to minimize internal standing waves, there are no parallel front, back, top or bottom panels. The ultra high-quality non-ferro fluid 1" hand coated silk dome tweeters are used with a low compression design and non-resonant chamber. Peak speakers feature midrange and bass units from Audio Technology whose founder Ejvind Skanning was previously founder of both Scan-Speak and Dynaudio. Peak Consult speakers are priced between $15.000/pr and $149.000/pr. Popular models include the InCognito XII at $22.000, the Empress VII at $33.000 and the El Diablo V at $79.000. Bluebird currently has the InCognito XII and $119.000 Typhoeus models available for demonstration."
