Mike I concur in the areas of population, urban enviroment, etc, but as for ranchers, hunters, fisherman, etc out in the 'wild' I find open carry completely acceptable.

I live in PA, and have had a permit to carry for many tears, but was unaware of open carry and have not seen anyone displaying it in my travels. I have a buddy who owns his own business, and is a huge enthusiast, who carries but always wears something to cover it. He is more lax with me and one can rarely tell unless he is in an awkward position and it peeks out.
In Bucks County, they have a special spot setup for permits and make it pretty painless to get one. They even supply a stack of phone books to look up references if needed. I have not carried but a few times but will renew my permit as needed because it is my right if for no other reason. |

Regardless of whether you like open or concealed, I like the right to choose.

I open carried for over a year. Here in Utah there is a big push on this. I know a lot of people that do, we have a huge group that meets monthly at different restaurants.
