Default TAD amplifier operating mode?

Does anyone know the specifics of what class TAD amplifiers operate in?

For the M2500 I have read class D but have been told it is a class A/class D hybrid design.

For the M600 I have read in some places class D and others say its class AB.

Thanks.

M2500 is class D with a linear power supply, of which I don't see the point: if you have a switching output stage you might as well have a switching power supply. Probably they wanted the amplifiers to be big and heavy to appeal to audiophiles. Too expensive IMO for what it is. You should try the Hypex NCore or the Primare amps if you want a class D amp.

On M600 TAD doesn't say what class it is, I think it's AB because its frequency response is too wide to be class D. But at 60k€/pair there are lots of options...

Joost.......I saw the photos you posted on WBF of the TAD gear in the London studio. Beautiful gear. I have done some research on the amplifier Class, and like you I can't seem to find any definite answer. For some reason it appears TAD is keeping this information private.

I am sure but have no proof that class D is involved. I can not remember where I saw that.

From the photos I have seen of the M600 I do not believe they are class D. There was too much in there.

TAD-M600 are pure solid-state AB design.
You can find online an service manual for M600 were you can even see a part number for output devices.
