Borders has really reduced the number of CD's they carry in the store so I have been forced to order from Amazon and occasionally Amazon UK.

I get Amazon boxes two to three times a week. The Amazon Prime shipping program is great. Vinyl too!

The usual big box stores; Barnes and Noble and FYE - big edge to FYE over B&N
Online - Second Spin, CD Universe, Deep Discount, Amazon - Good deals on used cd's at second spin

I am so fortunate to have 3 local old fashioned record stores within 15-20 miles. It's nice to blow a rainy afternoon and a couple hundred bucks browsing, buying, and coming home to listen.

Cutlers Records - Downtown New Haven CT in the heart of Yale. All genres new and used but they've gotta have the biggest classical collection on earth (or close to it)
Cutler's

Merles Record Rack - Orange CT - Used CD's and vinyl - Lotta clasic rock
Rare CDs, Vinyl Records, LPs, Albums - Music Store in Connecticut

Gerosa Records - Brookfield CT - I LOVE this place - Rock, jazz, new used, vinyl, cd, great inventory. Just picked up Peter Paul and Mary 10 Years Together and Little Feat Hoy Hoy in a quick stop during lunchtime.
Gerosa Records - Home

Please try to buy something from these folks to keep them going. They'll get and ship anything for you.

Thanks for the info. Think Cutler's had another store in the Hamden Plaza back in the late 60's and early 70's.

Barnes & Noble
Fye
Borders
Acoustic Sounds

International sellers on Ebay-both have a good selection and sell some imports that I could not find anywhere else-other prices were about 1/2 of what imports are selling for Stateside. Worth a look!.

Germany

UK
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/BADLANDS-Records-UK

This is supposed to be a great source for high quality Japanese imports
Pop, Rock, Jazz and Classical

I picked up a few cd's from Japan 2 weeks ago of Billy Joel. They look like mini LP's, the cd is inside a paper sleeve similar to a LP then that goes in the card board outer jacket. Sound quality seems to be better than other sony cd's I have.
