Default What a pleasent discovery!!

I was poking around on Flea-Bay and found a pair of tweeters that appear to be the same ones that are in my Technics R&B Series SB-7's that I bought on close-out almost 30-years ago.

Thing is they're asking $470/pr. for them!! (I know, that depends on if they actually get someone to pay that amount) And I was kinda giving up on these things actually being worth something other than being my first semi-serious pair of speakers.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

and mine in the SB-7's..

Dan,

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw that photo...

I remember when a buddy of mine gave up a very high quality stack of Japanese separates for that same Carver...

Ole Bob was a salesman...

The MX150 has got a few things wrong with her (B-speakers don't work even after replacing the relays and the tuner goes haywire sometimes) but man I "beat" the snot outta that thing driving four speakers (87db sens) and with an eq set kinda high. The TL3100 still plays great after 23-years.

I hear you can send stuff back to Bob and he (or his wife) will fix everything back to spec for a flat fee. I think this thing is ~$300+shipping. Thought about it but I'd really like to get my Mac C33 out of DOA mode and get me a MC7106 to drive these Technics (bridged 4-channels to 320wps) and a pair of Klipsch RB-61's in the bedroom.

I've been wodering how good the SB-7's would sound given a good rebuild of the crossovers. But that's a project I'd have to hand off to someone.
