Default Parasound

Notice parasound doesn’t get much traction here?
Wondering why ?
Seem great value for money American design !
Stereophile awarded ?
Specs seem so good
Maybe there should be a parasound thread

I like it, great performance for the money. I own a few pieces and enjoy them, two (JC2 and JC3+) are Stereophile class A rated, so can't be too shabby?

While I try not to purchase Chinese-made products, my JC3jr punches well above its weight. Parasound's products are at least made in the same factory in Taiwan that has made them for the past 35yr. Not Parasound owned, but at least not the low bidder.

Personally, I make a big distinction between Taiwan and China (also between Hong Kong and China).

Yep!

Taiwan is an independent democratic country.

Hong Kong is a city-state that is part of China but supposedly has its own rule of law and pseudo democratic government. I fear for it.

China is a country governed by the Communist Party whose number 1 goal is to protect the party, by among other things, maintaining social order at all costs.

BIG differences.

as for Parasound not 'getting it's just due' around here, you're guess is as good as mine. I suspect more folks like to talk about the higher end and certain brands that have an almost 'cult following'.

Myself, 2 years ago I bought a pair of PASS X260.8's, a pair of Parasound JC1 mono blocks was also on my radar. My current phono pre (Fosgate), should it up and die, I'd venture out and buy a JC3 tomorrow.

In the long-term, I fear for Taiwan, as well as Hong Kong in the near-term. Tough to be next to a country of ~1.4B folks run by (party) autocrats.

I've been a fan of Parasound for some time. I still hold the HCA3500 in great regard.

I enjoyed my Parasound gear when I had it. Get quality and sound for the price. Would easily purchase again if I was doing a second system that was more budget centered.

intersting comment JD (since we both have 260.8's) , budget ie $$ dollars never really entered into the equation when I choose my PASS amps over Parasound.
