I vote for the MA252. For the price of $3500 it has no business sounding as good as it does.

*45 amps of current to power your speakers.
*Built in ESS Sabre32 DAC w/DSD playback
* $2500 new.....You can find B or Demo stock units for about $2K

Dan D’Agostino’s new amp, Relentless. It won’t break the Bank at all. It will crush it to oblivion 🤪

Thanks!

I’ll have to check out primaluna

I’m borrowing a friend’s Nova 300. I must say, it sounds pretty awesome.

That made me laugh!!!

After factoring in my wife getting to buy something for the house after I select an amp, a bank-crusher would be a double whammy!!!

The MA252 does seem pretty intriguing.

Any AA’ers have experience with the McIntosh MA252 that have also heard the Peachtree or PrimaLuna as well?

I just went through this same exercise, including the carvernous room with high ceilings. We wanted to be able to provide music for gatherings and dinner parties as a background for the festivities. After much reading I decided on the NAD C 388 with the BluOs module. Here are a pair of reviews which describe the product:
https://www.gramophone.co.uk/feature...onth-nad-c-388
http://blog.son-video.com/en/2016/12/review-nad-c388/
I am very pleased with the performance of the unit so far using it to drive a pair of PSB Synchrony 2b speakers. We use the unit to stream Tidal and our local NPR station via bluetooth. I contacted NAD tech support inquiring about whether the unit's dac will fully unfold mqa and they responded that it will. It has a smooth but authoritative sound and will play larger speakers (Sopra 3s and B&W CM10s) without difficulty. It retails for about $2K.
