Goldfinger contains >16g of 24k gold which would spot at around $1k just for the metal.

With Goldfinger around 2.5 the price, you'd expect it to sound golden as well.
I still need more time on my Benz, plus I'm not done with room just yet.

Hi Myles, it's worth seeking out one to try, given your profession. I also have a Lyra Skala. My Allaerts MC2 Finish is a significant advancement for my system. (it's not fair to compare these 2 given the Allaerts is twice the price) It took me 6 months to get it from time of order which was before the Atlas was announced...

I do plan on getting a Lyra Atlas when funds permit (I've owned 4 lyra's over the years...

Is JvA imported into the US anymore? Last person I know who brought the cartridge into the US was Hart Hutschens then of Audio Connections (sold later to John Rutan) and now Audio Advancements in NJ (he also used to do the Amazon tt line, Klimo and a few other things). Think he's now doing the Eurolab tables.

Vis a vis the Atlas: I don't think you'll be disappointed

Hi, yes, but not sure by whom on the importing. Purchased mine from my dealer in Austin, Tx. He also has a Allaerts on display.

Before I buy a Atlas, I'd like to try a new arm, I've heard various things about Lyra's and TriPlanars. I suspect I'd go to Graham Phantom Supreme next, but very open to input if anyone has it any for me. (a tonearm with a din connector vs captive phono cable is a must for me-I realize this a contrary to most prefering a single run...)

My current phono set up is a Triplanar (factory din connection), Allaerts MC 2 Finish, Grand Prix Audio Monacco Table, (3) Transparent Ref XL's (mm2 phono versions) into a E.A.R MC4, then into a Nagra VPS/VFS.

ps, for those of you with din connections, the Transparent din to rca/xlr phono cables are quite special..

My first cart in 25 years. MCC3552. So what is it based on? Clearaudio Talisman Gold V2 like the former MCC10 or something else? Some say the new McIntosh MT10.5 designation is shipping with a repackaged Clearaudio Stradivari V2, but externally it looks nothing like it...

This cart weighs in at around 10g. McIntosh call it tonewood ebony.
