Hi Mike,

How does the pw sound on the 10.5i (assuming that is your arm?) - how would you describe it's sonic quality?

Goldfinger contains >16g of 24k gold which would spot at around $1k just for the metal.

With Goldfinger around 2.5 the price, you'd expect it to sound golden as well.

I have an Ebony H that I acquired about 6 months ago unused, but is not the most recent version. It has taken a long time to dial this cartridge in as it is very sensitive to SRA. I aligned it with a Mint LP protractor and then adjusted the bias and VTA (SRA) by ear. Now that i found the correct setup the music just sounds amazing. Well worth the time and effort (and patience) that has been involved. I run the cartridge into my VAC Standard LE phono that I really love, but is only MM, so the 2.5 mV output is perfect for my system.

There were many days (months actually including break in) I thought I had made a mistake. It would give a glimpse of promise and then mistrack on the next cut. It actually sounded good at many different VTA levels for short periods and then would reveal that it was not correct. Ultimately the final adjustment was less than .25mm (1/4 turn on the Origin Live VTA adjustment) and all my trepidation evaporated. The cartridge has amazing midrange with clear extension on both ends. I will state from personal experience that this cartridge would not be a good choice for arms that do not have easy and precise VTA adjustment.
