Greg.......I am so attached to the Micro Seiki, I don't think I could part with it. If I did part with it I would probably replace it with the Thorens TD-550 with a SME arm. That's $12K+ without a cartridge. If I still had my 1200 album collection this might be justifiable, but that's a large chunk of change to spin my tiny 150 album collection.

Lots a great deals on used LP's, you could build a new record collection like I did. Have you auditioned that Thorens TT? The last time that I looked at Thorens was around 1983 or so. They made some nice sounding TT's. BTW, that little "blue glow light" on the front panel of the TD-550 will match nicely with the rest of your MAC stuff. |

Dan, keep the Micro Seiki and add a 2nd turntable that Thoren's does look very kool. Why did you sell your 1200 LPs? |

Sounds like the Radikal PS is biggest bang for the buck if I was going to spend $$ on my Linn. It was the Linn back in 1985 that started this slippery slope of vinyl Most people think an ipod is great sound. |

Dan,
I'm sure your Micro Seiki beats many high end designs, especially with your arm which allows you for VTA and VTF adjustment on the fly. This is a feature I'm really jealous about !!

Not to change the subject but the specifications are not bad for a $500 TT

With the prices being pretty reasonable i'd try both the Maestro, and the Ortofon. You then make the decision based on your own listening experience.
Cheaper than two MC275's. |
