That's excellent advice! I watched my Maxx 3's setup in my room which is 20'X15' and that's where they started and would listen and moved inch at a time.

As mentioned the overall sound quality is very good but still lacks some bass energy below 60hz (there is a marked dip around 45hz) - the acoustic treatment has helped but not eliminated this issue so speaker placement (or new kit) is the last option otherwise I live with it. |

When you all talk about the distance from the wall, are you talking about the rear or front of the speaker from the wall?

I believe we are all talking about the distance between the rear corner of the speaker closest to the wall (after toe in) and the wall.

I meant the rear of the speaker - but I measure from the centre rather than the inner corner.

Have you found the zone of neutrality as mentioned in the OM? The voice must sound natural. Then the bass. Then the fine tuning for sound-stage, imaging, etc.

I'm happy with 1 and 3 but not 2. I didn't spend enough time positioning them mainly because they came with spikes but when my carpet gliders arrive I will do it properly. I have spent a lot of time listening to them in the current position so it should be obvious if there's an improvement.
