Well Mcintosh uses Russian tubes I do believe. The AudioGoners are in a different world. But they're not as bad as the people at Audio Science Review. ASR people are a cult. I got banned for simply saying measurements are not the end all. Topping Dac has great measurements but it's not a big player in the audio market.

That particular audiogon rant was about the MB 20, not the MHA 200.

I got a Topping D50 I’ll sell ya cheep! Even though you’ll pay almost nothing, you’ll soon realize it was too much.

I just ordered an MHA 200. Might be awhile before I see it. Meanwhile, I’ll open up the tube locker to see what I can roll in.

Sweet! That's a really cool little amp...I find myself a little tempted by it! I must resist....I've spent a ton already this year.

Looking forward to your impressions....congrats!

Oh boy...LOL! I do have a hole to fill up now, next to the MP100, underneath the VPI. Fortunately ( ) the amp won't fit there!

I do have a Crown D-75A amp in the living room setup as a headphone amp. But really all of my headphone listening is done in my office, where I have the Sennheiser HDVA-600/HD800 combo that I purchased from Dan a few years ago.

You're right though...that tube amp would look pretty sweet near the VPI. There really isn't room however...

Giving serious thought of replacing my Woo WA7 with the MHA200.

Was looking at moving towards SS with a Bryston BHA1, however this new MAC looks pretty neat and I do love the tubes in the Woo.

Would feed the amp, with my D100 (for now).

Also considering the MHA150, however it may be overkill and I maybe better off adding a new/better DAC with my MHA200.

Comments/observations are appreciated.

Is your WA7 a 1st gen? FWIW, a few months ago I sent my 1st gen WA7 to Woo for the DAC upgrade, and it’s like a new amp. The new DAC is much smoother and more natural sounding. It’s a worthwhile upgrade for $500. This is from the Woo site:
“The upgrade would replace the entire digital section in your 1st gen WA7 to 2nd gen DAC. This includes the new 24/384kHz ESS SABRE DAC and XMOS USB controller with “high retention” USB connector (orange color), premium Teflon tube sockets and new LEDs. This is the same digital section used on the latest 2nd gen WA7 Fireflies.”

It is the 2nd gen and sounds great.

wondering how much of an improvement i would get for the expense.

I wonder how the new Mac stacks up against a vet like the Woo WA2?
