Tony you will often see that phrase being used in articles. It speaks much more about the emotional response and feelings of the author, not the individual reading it. My phrase did not single or call anyone out so taking it personally reflects the state of your mood while my intention was to lift it through music...

I do sense that these days it is often not even worth sharing anything because you never know whose feelings will be hurt or who will get upset or triggered or whatever they call it. Conversations are getting more difficult and topics and words have to be carefully selected and analyzed.. I never could relate to that so I will just leave it at yes, we all have our taste and everyone is entitled to it, as well as their own opinions.

This site was built on sharing passion for the hobby as well as difference of opinion openly and with mutual respect. It all worked great. That obviously has changed over the years. That’s a shame.

Or maybe it just reflects my understanding of English. I apologize Serge, I really do appreciate your posts and your intentions, and I know it’s probably pedantic of me. When someone says “you” or “your” in a post, I assume they’re directing their message at the reader, and see I big difference between “I enthusiastically love this” and “if you don’t love this...” I guess I’ve also become too sensitive to hyperbole these days, there’s so much of it around us every day.

I agree with what you say about the site in general, I definitely see it changing. Again, my apologies.

Balance... wonderful!

The best places are not where there are no discussions, but where people agree to disagree.
I don't feel this site has become worse in this aspect, even on the contrary.

We're all passionate about our hobbies, and sometimes express ourselves with strong words that can trigger others, but with no bad intentions.

Gentlemen, please keep posting about your passion, about what touches your soul!

Love and peace,
Bart

Victor Hugo, being a poet, a novelist, a dramatist and having written on exceptional variety of genres spanning just about every topic, over 60 years, put it best....

This really was the whole point of this whole thread and not whether one agrees with that which is presented from the soul of another.

It is much easier to get people to shut down and withdraw than to open up and especially during these challenging times.

But we have something much more powerful in common!

The Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor, Op. 31, No. 2, was composed in 1801–02 by Ludwig van Beethoven. It is usually referred to as The Tempest, but the sonata was not given this title by Beethoven, or indeed referred to as such during his lifetime. The name comes from a reference to a personal conversation with Beethoven by his associate Anton Schindler in which Schindler reports that Beethoven suggested, in passing response to his question about interpreting it and Op. 57, the Appassionata sonata, that he should read Shakespeare's Tempest; some however have suggested that Beethoven may have been referring to the works of C. C. Sturm, the preacher and author best known for his Reflections on the Works of God in Nature, a copy of which he owned and, indeed, had heavily annotated. Although much of Schindler's information is distrusted by classical music scholars, this is a first-hand account unlike any other that any scholar reports. The British music scholar Donald Francis Tovey says in A Companion to Beethoven's Pianoforte Sonatas...

Johnny Hartman "Moonlight in Vermont"

https://youtu.be/Z5OcPN8DnRI

Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont

Gentle finger waves
Ski trails down a mountain side
Snowlight in Vermont

Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
As they travel each bend in the road
And when people meet, in this romantic setting
They're so hypnotized be the lovely...

Evening summer breeze
Sweet warblings of the meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont

"Moonlight in Vermont" is a popular song about the U.S. state of Vermont, written by John Blackburn (lyrics) and Karl Suessdorf (music) and published in 1944.

The lyrics are unusual in that they do not rhyme. John Blackburn, the lyricist, has been quoted as saying, "After completing the first 12 bars of the lyric, I realized there was no rhyme and then said to Karl, 'Let’s follow the pattern of no rhyme throughout the song. It seemed right.'" The lyrics are also unconventional in that each verse (not counting the bridge) is a haiku.

The song is considered an unofficial state song of Vermont and is frequently played as the first dance song at Vermont wedding receptions. It was first introduced by Margaret Whiting in a 1944 recording and has been covered by numerous other artists over the years.
