Default The King is dead. Long live the king !

Last night I had a listen for the last time to my Sophia II speakers. I could not stop wondering, how good they really are, esp. with SET amps !

They sounded so good with the Kondo (Audio Note Japan) Ongaku - 27Wpc SET integrated, that even Kondo distributor himself was surprised.

$110.000 Kondo Ongaku might not be sth we would consider a natural partner for the $16k Sophias, but at least it showed how good - coherent, fast and transparent - the speakers really are.

But Sophias have to go ... to make room for the new W/P Shasha

So, the King is dead. Long live the king !

Congrats on the Sasha's! This is a very familiar situation to me as I also went from Sophia IIs to Sasha's. Even the colors are very similar. Enjoy the Sasha's, they are incredible speakers and get better and better with time as you discover their talent.

Here are some pics of my journey.

Elberoth...quite an evolution in your system from the all-ARC affair with the Sophia IIs !! Very nicely done I was curious which amp you are using to primarily drive the Sashas now: Dartzeel? Do the Nagras and Pass amps have enough juice to fully power the Sashas?

Elberoth,

Congratulations on your new Sashas. What speaker cables are you using? Looking forward to your listening impressions either posted here or in your "European Perspective" system on Audiogon.
