Default Sophia IIs in Stereophile Feb 2010

Anyone see the 4 page "follow up" in Feb 2010 Stereophile on the Sophia IIs?

Lost of good things to say about 'em!

Yep I read it. All the more positive because Art Dudley was not a fan of the "old" Wilson house sound. So his conversion is quite positive.

Ah yes, as in history, the criterion of the unsympathetic eyewitness lends greater authenticity to the recording of the event, so does the unsympathetic reviewer lend authenticity to his report.

I wonder if there is more to the story about why Wilson didn't get him a pair of Sashas to review? It sounded like this was the plan, but then they switched to Sophia 2's.

Maybe something to do with his lower powered tube amps and the difficult load that the Sashas present in the bass?

Is there a link on this or is it only on the rack in magazine form?

Jesse...it just came out in the latest issue of Stereophile, so it will take a nother few weeks or so when the next issue comes out before they start posting the reviews from the current issue on their web site. There is usually a month or two lag between publication in print and posting the reviews online.

Actually Jesse...they may not post it online since this was a follow up by Art Dudley. The original review was done by Brian Damkroger in Nove 2006 here: Stereophile: Wilson Audio Specialties Sophia loudspeaker

Sophia IIs are great speakers, I really enjoyed my time with them. If it wasn't for Sasha's, I'd still be listening to Sophia IIs and would be very happy.

I believe John Atkinson posted in one of the forums that Art's review of the Sashas will be published in the June issue of Stereophile. I think the Sophia 2 review was a test run...
