Nice way to start the season (and I forgot to mention a stirring rendition of our National Anthem, preceding the advertised selections, as well!)

As much as I enjoy fine audio systems replay of music, I much prefer and stay grounded by frequent attendance at live musical performances by talented musicians at quality venues like the Kaufman Center in KC.

Happy Listening

Thank you for sharing Jim!
And I agree with attending live concerts.

Thanks for sharing, Jim.

I live in Missouri, but I still have not made it to KC to attend a concert at the Kauffman Center. I heard from my in-laws that it is an impressive venue.

This evening after a fine dinner at the "Top of Vancouver" revolving restaurant, we saw Boz Scaggs at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, British Columbia. It was an excellent show, with Boz still playing and signing well and the audience very engaged with lots of dancing in front of the stage (not by us). Much fun had by all.

David Lindley at the Triple Door in Seattle last week. Lousy picture but great show. He came out in the wildest multi-color psychedelic getup I've seen in some time, and played for two hours, some incredible guitar playing and a collection of beautiful instruments. Excellent sound as well.

Deb and I saw Harry Connick, Jr. at Avery Fisher hall in Lincoln Center last night. He sang some standard crooner songs and then opened things up with a few guests (i couldn't understand their names). He is a gifted musician playing the piano like it is second nature, using most everything on the stage as a percussion instrument and singing. He even danced to teach us all what Naw'lins is like. I most enjoyed the horn section. Just nothing like a high quality horn section. Best part of the night was when Deb asked me why we couldn't hear the standup bass even though we could clearly see him playing and I simply answered "acoustics.

Los Lobos back in Seattle last night at the Triple Door. Just an awesome show, they played for over two hours. It's amazing how hard these guys still rock after 41 years. We saw them last year on their 40th anniversary tour and they were great, but last night's show was even better. Only challenge was they were incredibly loud and we forgot our ear plugs - my head is still buzzing.
