Hi PHC1, it was simply the 'little' SA-201, not even the beefy SA-Ref. I would love to listen my Sophia or the new Sasha with a SA-Reference.

Other than Lamm, Pass XA series and Plinius Reference, what are some other top tier class A biased amps that would also have the current required to drive the Sashas?

One low cost experiment might be to take the C2300 out of the chain (it is not that "tubey") and substitute a separate phono preamp and a high quality tube buffer, if there is such a thing. I have a 402 and once tried a Musical Fidelity tube buffer. The experiment was an instant failure because the buffer raised the noise floor and resulted in a loss of resolution. I have been curious about the Audio Horizons TB 5.0/5.1 which boasts of a low noise floor.

Boulder and Gryphon besides the ones mentioned by yourself and Cyril.
