I'm loving my Sasha's,paired with Ayre k5xe pre-amp and Ayre v5xe-mp amp.
Prior to this I had Snells with a REL subwoofer. I;'m feeling a bit of "bass envy", and am wondering whether this is just cause I'm used to having a sub in my previous system. The room is pretty large(20 x 30 feet), but there'd only be room for 1 sub. Would you suggest adding a JL or Wilson watchdog sub, or would improving my amp be a better choice? Thanks Wilson experts! |

I will let those who like having subs in there system jump in here. I wouldn't think you would have a power issue with those Ayre amps. Maybe you have a room or speaker placement issue. Jim |

Will I miss the subs? Are the Sasha's alone, the more accurate sound?? |

Unless you are using the speakers for HT you will not be missing much if anything without subs. The Sasha's do a great job.

Jim, What were you saying about letting those that have subs jump in? I presently own WP/7's for mains and Sophias for rears. I can say without a doubt that yes the Sophias will sound just fine without the sub but adding the sub ( in my case the JL Fathom) just enhanced the lower end with better definition. Mains are designed to ONLY go to a certain point in the lower registers. Try playing your system at realistic levels and tell me how it handles the bass? Most speakers are incapable when pushed HARD! Especially if you have a large room.

I do not want my 2-channel system to sound like a Home Theater. |

I have heard the Sophia IIs with they Ayre V5xe, and there is no problem with power and bass with the pairing.
