Hardwood Floors with PMC
Hey guys,
Just wondering if any of you are using your PMC speakers with hardwood floors. My question stems from PMC's recommendation to use carpet spikes when using the speakers in a carpeted area. What would be the recommended way to get the most of say the EB1i's on a hardwood floor? What kind of decoupling do you use? Thanks, Rob |

Could try these with the spikes-

Rob.......Looks like the first link (Cone/Spike Grounding Base) offers the best solution on hardwood floors. I have a carpeted room, and use the carpet spikes on my PMC EB1i speakers. The spikes pierce the carpet, the points embedding slightly into the subfloor, providing a stable platform for the speakers, and lifting them slightly off the carpet surface.

I will be demoing a pair of EB1is in May. Any recommendations on other PMC speakers I should be listening to. They will be replacing my Khorns. Thanks. |

I have had my PMC EB1i speakers since last July. I am still as amazed by them today as I was the first month. These are truly amazing speakers.
I do plan to demo the new PMC PB1i speakers as soon as I can locate a dealer with them set up. The comments coming in on the PB1i say they deliver on the same scale as the EB1i. I have attached a photo of the PB1i.

Rob.......I am not sure what the current list prices are on the EB1i, or the new PB1i. The PB1i is in a slimmer cabinet, and uses two 6 1/2" bass drivers in the transmission line cabinet. The tweeter and the midrange domes are the same as the EB1i, to the best of my knowledge. The EB1i uses the unique carbon fibre and Nomex 10” piston driver woofer. I can testify to its ability to go very low, be soild, and capable of some serious low frequecy slam, all while remaining very detailed. Hopefully, you will be able to hear the EB1i's and the new FB1i's side by side. That is the test I would be interested in hearing. I would not be surprised to see you come home with the new EB1i's, though, they are amazing. Here's a couple of EB1i photos.
