I had similar problems with trickle chargers. I converted all my toys to Odyssey batteries for their superior performance and weight savings. I was referred to the Accumate trickle charger to keep them healthy and have found their trickle chargers to perform like no others.

It was easy to run an inconspicuous hard line to behind the rear license plate to plug the cars into when not being used. I don not use the old style tongs and they can supply the nice discreet hard wire. They work with lead/acid batteries too.

The Odyssey's CCA's are incredible, the 33% weight differential is nice and the charger has never failed to maintain a perfect charge.

The problem, at least with the Porsche batteries, is that if it sits in discharged state for a bit of time, it will no longer hold a charge and is damaged permanently.
