I am aware that 'volume pot' is perhaps an incorrect way of describing this component, as it is not involved in the actual volume control - AAVA is.
For this reason, a volume control knob with an electrical motor is no longer necessary, in the same way that it would be redundant to use an electrical motor to move the source control knob from one input to the next. Having an electrical motor in a preamp or integrated amp is a potential risk, as it is an electro-mechanical component which might fail at some point, so eliminating it will further improve the longevity and reliability of Accuphase components. In the scenario outlined above, the volume control setting would be stored in the device, just like the last used input or the Phase/'Inv' setting for each individual input is already stored, at least in the C-2120 I own. When you change the volume, either via remote or via a volume control knob (which would run freely, with no min/max stops, just like the tuning knob of a tuner), you would just see the level on the LCD increase or decrease (and of course hear it...). Cheers, Samuel. |

![]() As you can see it had a lot of inputs and features like bass, treble, loudness etc. You may know that this was the "grand-father" of today's Accuphase amplifiers, since the people behind Kenwood's Supreme project were exactly the same people who created Kensonic Audio Labs named Accuphse later. I'm happy that they still use the same design for today's projects, and Accuphase amplifiers still have all those great features. |

Switching between 10 inputs and switching through 65'536 volume steps are two completely different pairs of shoes. Martin |

I love Accuphase. The only minor thing that irks me is the lack of an on/off switch on the remote control. Not a serious problem though.
Oh and, I can always use lower prices ![]() |

+1 remote standby would be nice, in my opion the amp in my case will start to shine after 1 or 2 hours.

Tommy, you mean the lack of a button to turn off the Accuphase logo, right?

I don't like how the warranty is not transferable to the new owner, I think that would hurt their sales by making it harder for people to upgrade
