Hi Folks,
Looking to upgrade my Preamplifier and am considering a BAT product to go with my Classe CA-M600 Monoblock SS Amplifiers. Has anyone compared the VK-33SE with the original Rex? Wondering if the transformer coupled output of the 33SE trumps the older capacitor coupled Rex. I would expect the Rex to still win out in a head to head but have never heard either and do not live in an area where I will ever have the chance. |

I have not compared the VK-33SE to the first REX, but I do own and use in separate systems a VK-33SE and a VK-53SE. I find both outstanding, and I recall BAT stating during a phone call that the VK-33SE performs better than the non-SE VK-53, in large part due to the more advanced and expensive implementation of transformers in the VK-33SE. My VK-33SE, which I purchased before my VK-53SE, was a real eye-opener sonically and functionally.
