Default Cartridges you like with your Rega Arm.

These arms are on everything. Rega never bowed out of affordable turntables even with the coming CD windstorm. They are on JA Michell, Sota, Funk, Thorens, etc...

So what cartridges have you found mate well and what do you like about them?

I am running my Ortofon Blue on my TT. I had the stock cartridge on and swapped it for the Ortofon I was using on my old table.

How do you like it? How does it differ? You had the Elys 2?

The Ortofon is not an expensive cartridge, but I think it performs really well in delivering smooth sound with very good mid range clarity, good highs, and bass. I really liked the sound on my ProJect TT, and it seems like a nice match on the Rega. The next step for me on the Rega is the sub platter, and the power supply, and then maybe a move to a better cartridge.

Although I'm very happy with my Elys 2, more than one person has recomended I replace it with a Dynavector 10X5. It's a high output MC cartridge that is supposed to be tops in it's price range.

I've found it's pretty difficult to max out Rega arms. Shims, notwithstanding, I've liked the Glider with them, especially. Clearaudio Concerto matched well, too.

The Linn MM cart works well with it for me. Not expensive either and... it's a Linn so hard to go too wrong there imho.
