Billy Powell. rock.
Herbie Hancock & Charles Mingus, jazz.
classical:
Arthur Rubinstein
Martha Argerich
Sviatoslav Richter
Emil Gilels
Vladimir Ashkenazy

Bud Powell was my first jazz one, must dig him up, and the keyboard/songwriter for Uriah Heep at their best.

Very weird how a thread title can have so many different interpretations. And starting from the OP's first post I took it to mean that a Keyboard player is not quite the same musician as a pianist.

So, with that in mind I find it quite inconceivable that...as a keyboardist,

Tony Banks of Genesis was not mentioned one time by any subsequent poster. Just amazing.

And just to be clear, he's numero uno in my book.

Wind and Wuthering was Tony Banks' album, as I see it. The keyboards were very prominent. And to me, the term "keyboard" includes all types. I noted two classical pianists, two synth wizards, a jazz pianist and a jazz organist in my first list, for example. Far as I'm concerned, if it has a keyboard, it counts.

If I can add to my six, here's Joey Alexander. Don't know how old he is in this video, but he's 19 now.
