Default I said goodbye to my 5 B&W 800 Series D2's today

My dealer came today and hauled away all of my B&W 800 Series D2's speakers today. I'll admit I was truly sad to see them go. I had some really good times with them!

But the check he handed me helped a bit.

The room is still not quite ready for their replacements.

So what's coming to replace them?

I bet it was tough saying good bye to the 800d2... those are stunners.

I bought Revel Ultima 2's - Salon, Studio, Voice. The 800 D2's sounded terrific, I loved listening to them.

As I have never heard Revel before, I must ask, is it considered to be an upgrade to the 800D2? I have the 800D2 in one system and I am curious for the comparison.

Things being very subjective, I prefer the Revels. Harmon does a lot of DBT'ing that indicates a majority prefer the Revels. I say to each his own, I loved the B&W's. I could have kept them and been happy.

So....the dealer gave you replacements and cash.

Sounds like he knows something you might not?

Agreed. I had an opportunity to buy Salon 2's for a good deal and compared them side by side to my 802 D2. They are both very good speakers and it's very subjective.
