The price in France is around 10k for the C27 whereas it is around 3.5k in Japan. That's more than a small difference. I could fly business to pick it up and still save money

I am ordering it from Japan trough my dealer here. Retail list price is around 13000$. It is an incomprehensible difference to Japanese prices. But this is a topic "everywhere" outside Japan. At 3500$ it is interresting to see what it is competing with. Still, at 10K I would love to know if there is a phono amp that can compete overall, sound/price/quality/look with the C-27?

All Accuphase components I have opened up (and I did open quite a few) had 100/120/230v multi voltage transformers.

All you have to do is to rearrange the wires. This is a 5 min job for any tech.

BTW I have the 800/801 service manual where voltage change is described ... should be the same for all models. PM me if interested.

Accuphase voicing equaliser do much more than that. For example, no cable change will result in the two speakers having "almost" identical responses at the listening position. Also, the reason why many dealer do not recommend the unit, is not related to the fact that they want/prefer to sell cables, but because they do not understand how the unit works. They see it as an extremely overpriced digital equalizer.

Such a thread exists already. Look for "Accuphase DG58 Necessity or Novelty" in the Accuphase forum.

From what I've heard, the latest Accuphase products (DP-720, DP-550) doesn't work using the rearranging wire method

What you have heard is wrong. I've seen dp-720 and e-600 with jumper settings which can be re-configured which is similar to 800/801

Yeah, you are right. I clarified with other users that the new machine still can be reconfigured, just no marking on the board to hint user which jumper setting is for 220V

Today, I heard for the first time the DP 720 in comparison to the DP 410. Normally I cannot hear a lot of differences between CD Players. But this Event today shocked me. Not only could I hear differences, the DP 710 outclassed the DP 410.
So I consider now to sell my DP 510 and to buy the DP 720.

Best regards

Martin
