Listening to . . . . Rachel Podger - Perla Barocca: Early Italian Masterpieces
Rachel Podger - Violin Marcin Swiatkiewicz - Organ and Harpsichord Daniele Caminiti - Theorbo Lovely Italian sonatas - including works by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi Mealli, Isabella Leonarda, Marco Uccellini, and other well known (?) composers of the very early baroque. The thing is, to me. quite beautiful - Podger is amazing and, in spite of the harpsichord stuff, (I do like the organ pieces considerably better.) this is an excellent recording. Channel Classics does produce world-class SACD's and has done exceedingly well on this release. And, just in case you aren't particularly familiar with the THEORBO . . .

I've been a fan of just about every sort of music except rap and country.
As my journey into high end audio has progressed, I'm teaching myself about the classics, really enjoy what I've discovered (Haydn, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, etc etc). I do have an SACD player. Any recommendations on some classical SACDs I should add to my collection, excellent performances and excellent sound quality?
