Default Streaming Apple Lossless Files via Airplay

Hi,

I want to feed my new Wadia 121 DAC with Apple Lossless files!

Because my IMac is way to far from my Wadia i have to stream the music using Airplay to my Apple TV3 which is connected to my Wadia via Toslink.

Sadly the Apple TV only outputs 48kHZ

Is there an alternative to the Apple TV3 which outputs 96 or 192kHz?

ATV can only output 48kHz.

I went with a refurb mac mini directly connected by audioquest cinnamon USB to w4s mINT. Mini can be remotely controlled via my macbook. Lastweek the HDD overflowed with lossless and so I invested in a 2Tb lacie cloud drive.

You can always go with a Mac Mini and stream the files off your iMac or store them on the Mini directly.

I am in the process of upgrading my Mini, taking out the spindel drive, putting in an SSD. The SSD is only 128GB though so I'm going to stream the data off a Time Capsule over wireless. Pure Music should load the track into RAM to avoid any streaming issues before it plays. Hopefully the best of both worlds.

You can also buy Airfoil Rogue Amoeba | Airfoil | Select Your Operating System

This program will find your remote speakers and stream anywhere, so if you use Amarra, Audrivana, Pure Music, or something like that it will just send it from iTunes. It's pretty slick and not too expensive.

Sorry to say I am now experiencing the same issue...I was able to use Audirvana and Airfoil several weeks back. Now I can't get it to play nicely with iTunes or Audirvana. I'm looking into it but while I do, maybe someone else has had this happen and can offer a solution?

This would be an alternative!

I'm taking a similar route. Mac Mini with SSD (just for OS and playback software - Audirvana+ likely) with 16GB RAM. Thunderbolt connected storage for music. No NAS or wireless music (data) transfer. And, WW Platinum USB cable.
