Airborne isolation precautions. I thought it was ridiculous that “they” kept saying masks are not necessary from day one. The viral shedding in infected individuals is pretty severe.

While my background was medicine, I really do not know much about viruses. But I do think that until the whole population is wearing masks outside their homes, we will have a very tough time beating this virus. Let's assume for a minute that the Chinese ARE being honest about their viral cases, then look at the statistics. They have pretty much stopped growing. South Korea? Same. What is different? EVERYONE IS WEARING MASKS...

There is no reason to stop the economy and allow people to walk around without masks if the virus is airborne. That means it is spread everywhere including groceries. If everyone would wear a mask as a temporary law (it is part of culture it seems in many Asian countries now, even before the pandemic), me thinks we would have a much better chance at fighting it. Yes, I know, there is a mask shortage but this should be addressed ASAP in my opinion and is perhaps the best method we have at the moment.

Yes, I fully agree. I don't know if you've seen the video on YouTube with the intevew with Dr. Kim from S. Korea, but he was a BIG proponent of wearing masks, and explained why so many people in China and S. Korea, and Japan do wear masks. He also was also in not in agreement with the US Surgeon General recommending people not wearing masks, but his supposition was this was to prevent hoarding in the U.S. I can't remember if someone posted a link to this video on YT with Dr. Kim here previously, but if not, I'll post a link to it.

I've been wearing an N95 mask when out grocery shopping; I still had some that I bought some back in November 2018 during the catastrophic Camp Fire when the smoke was so bad in California for the better part of a month (and which burned my sister's home down in Paradise, CA).

Yes, the viral shedding is severe. The other factor that contributes to this is the folks may be asymptomatic for is 5-7.5 days, all the while shedding virus to people around them.

Don't wear masks they say... Well, that's why we already have 2x as many cases as China and facing 200,000 deaths as an estimate for the US.

Not sure why youtube "removed" Dr. Zelenko's video but here is an interesting statistic. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...GlgW6eYxKt0pzo

I couldn't spot even one person not wearing a mask. China taking serious measures. https://youtu.be/5P88TVa3q0Q

I'm no epidemiologist but something tells me that simply instilling the rules of wearing masks from the very beginning could have prevented what we are facing today. Wuhan is resuming their lives. Compare and contrast the few shots of Wuhan and people wearing masks with other places by the way...

Our government didn't recommend masks for the general population because we didn't have anything close to enough to go around. (If they had told the truth in the beginning, imagine the toilet paper shortage on steroids!) Interesting to see a number of European countries rejecting Chinese masks and testing kits due to their being defective.
