I agree, somehow. Warming up 804D4, I keep left/right subs off. Yes, 804D4 produces nice deep reach realistic bass. Otherwise, there is always a little bit extra I used to have with CM9 and 2 subs in bass area, especially at tracks like Daft Punk, Pink Floyd. I always keep my subs on very low level, not overlaying loudspeakers anyhow. And yes, for movies, "must have"

So, still questioning if keep pair of ASW10CM, or replace with pair DB4S - or if single DB3D plays left-right channels from one box or splits two channels to one mono

Cant agree more @petermusic. I lived with 804 d2 for almost 10 years. Adding subs was a game changer. I have a hard time even thinking about about how much $ i’d have to spend on amplifiers and speakers until subs aren’t «*required*» . Even there, which speakers would really make a couple of REL stacks «*not required*». ???

Thank you @CheezWhiz! And that is why right after getting my 804D4s - which I love all-ways-no-questions - I ordered pair of DB4S. Waiting for delivery

I drive my D4s with a Gryphon Diablo 300 and for 2 channel listening in my 18 by 14 room I don't feel there's a lack of bass. Maybe it's just my taste in music? Also I gotta say the D4s are a substantial improvement over the D3s I had previously in every department.

Hello all, I just put an order for the 804 D4 in black without any audition...

How are you liking the 804 D4s?

I have a Hegel H360 amp now but thinking of upgrading, do you think the Accuphase E650 or E480 is a good match? And for the E650, its only 30 Watts Class A... will that be enough?

Put me in the “subs are better” camp. I had my 803d3s without subs for about 3 years and liked the sound. Added a pair of jlf110 v2 to the system and calibrated them with a Men220. NO COMPARISON. The subs are staying.
